Video Projects, Browser Storage and Account Data
The editor processes ordinary video edits and export in your browser. Local project storage, an account save and an exported video contain different things. Keep your original footage so you can recover or revise a project later.
Original videos and projects on this device
Browser storage can retain imported originals, thumbnails and editing projects on the device where you worked. It depends on available storage and the browser’s retention behavior. Clearing site data or using another device can leave a project without its original footage. Keep copies outside browser storage.
A project backup is not a video backup
A downloaded project backup contains timeline instructions, asset metadata and file identities. It does not package the original videos into that JSON file. To continue a restored project, you need its source files; the editor can request that missing originals be relinked. An exported MP4 or WebM is the rendered result rather than an editable project.
Cloud project saves store edit metadata
Saving project edits to your account stores project instructions and asset metadata in the account database. It does not upload the full original source for that save. Account storage therefore does not replace keeping your footage. The current beta’s settings provide the save operation; local projects remain visible in the device’s project list.
What an AI request sends
The prompt, project instructions, selected clip and relevant analysis can be sent to the service and the model provider through OpenRouter. Include frames additionally sends sparse sampled images. Audio silence analysis runs locally and can supply candidate ranges. These samples and ranges are different from sending a complete recording or speech transcript.
Shared credentials and separate video records
Authentication uses the shared account database with the photo products. Video credit balances, Whop memberships, payment references and usage records remain separate. Each domain has its own sign-in session. Read the privacy policy for the data categories and contact details that apply to account requests.

Can I recover a video from a project JSON file?
No. The JSON contains edits and source identities, not the footage. Keep the original file and relink it when needed.
Does saving to my account upload the entire video?
No. The current cloud project save stores instructions and metadata rather than the complete original source.
